Wearable Technology in Cardiac Monitoring

The article focuses on the process of using wearable technology in cardiac monitoring with particular reference to the idea of the continuous assessment of heart health. Smartwatches and fitness tracking devices can detect patient’s heart rate, observe arrhythmias and share the data in real time with healthcare professionals.

It can be said that wearable technology has revolutionalized the field of cardiac care that provides the opportunity of constant outside traditional health-related environments. These devices employ evidence such as heart rate, ECG, and other signs to indicate the status of a patient. The information that is gathered in the study can be used to observe reducing indicators of potential cardiac occurrences and care for patients with long-term heart diseases. They include issues such as data quality and validity, patients’ compliance, and how wearable data can be incorporated with the electronic health records.

Research has indicated that wearable technology is very effective in diagnosing arrhythmias and other heart diseases. Introducing wearables in the context of cardiac rehabilitation has helped increase the effectiveness of increasing the intensity of the rehabilitative exercise and also the extent of users’ compliance with the programs assigned to them. Real-time data from the wearables has also contributed to timely medical response and thus, low hospitalization rates as well as enhanced cardiac health.
